The 511 Project: Part Three

The 511 Project: Part Three

Part three of the 511 project! In this video, I sat down with Mr. John where he does a basic disassembly/inspection of the 511 and tests the trigger pull prior to us taking it to the range. From everything I read online, with 511’s you’re kind of playing the lottery when it comes to triggers, and there’s not a ton you can do about it. Sure you can do some polishing and the like but it’s not adjustable like a modern target rifle’s trigger. We definitely got lucky, after a few tests the trigger settled in around 2.5lbs. Not bad, but definitely not a match grade trigger by any means. According to Mr. John however, this is a perfect trigger weight for a squirrel rifle (woohoo!!).

For the initial shooting test prior to any serious modifications ,we opted to put the 511 into the original stock, not the new 513 stock. You know, for science. We really wanted to establish a solid baseline of what this rifle could do as it came from the factory. We hope you enjoy the video and look forward to sharing the initial results in part four!
