The 511 Project: Part Six Finale (For Now…)

The 511 Project: Part Six Finale (For Now…)

It is with a somewhat heavy heart that I say, the 511 Project is finished. It has been an incredible experience to learn about vintage .22LR’s from one of the best, Mr. John. Prior to this series I had not known anything about competition .22LR shooting and truthfully I am not necessarily a rifleman. I grew up with a shotgun in my hand and never really toyed with a .22LR except for shooting soda cans and the like.

I’d say that’s a pretty good group for an 80-year-old .22LR!

I cannot thank Mr. John enough for all the assistance in making this project and being willing to go in front of the camera and share some of his trade secrets. The world really needs more folks like him who are willing to be good stewards and mentor the next/up and coming generation. People like him who work hard, take pride in their craft, and are skilled with their hands are a quickly disappearing, and once the wisdom is gone, it’s very well gone forever, or a long slog to recover it.

Mr. John saddled up for the final accuracy test!

I want to thank all the folks who have liked and commented and reached out on the videos. We cannot thank you enough for the support and the mentions are too numerous to count at this point. I hope to continue to work on projects like this in the future and continue to build this archive with as much useful knowledge as possible on the subject of vintage arms and outdoor gear. May we all keep traditions and heritage gear alive that is worth its salt. Part Six of the 511 project can be found here. Thanks for tuning in.
